Tonya, I just finished reading your story on the Raw Guru website and felt an automatic connection. In fact, I happened to stumble on the website while surfing for more information about raw foods and your interview came up. I call this crossing of paths a "Divine" one. Nothing happens by accident. At least I don't believe so. I was really thrilled by your revelation of what the raw food lifestyle can do for us. I survived and healed from a brain tumor and uncontrollable seizures via the raw food diet. Had my father not been a pediatric neurologist and I happened upon one of his books in his library, I would have had the recommended brain surgery to remove the tumor, been on a ton of meds, and sitting in a corner somewhere slobbering from the mouth needing around the clock care. The angry and negative comments I received from my doctors when I walked out of the hospital rather than have the brain surgery were unreal. It's a long story. While I am not 100% raw, I am just about there. However, there is no doubt the raw food diet healed me. As a result, being a recording artist, singer/songwriter, entertainer and music producer, I wrote a song titled, "My Safe Harbor," to inspire and give others hope when facing life challenging health issues and the like. This song, and others I've written since recovering from my lengthy illness, has achieved more than I could have ever dreamed possible. I look at my illness, a long and arduous one, as a blessing. I am sure you can relate. I felt compelled to write and thank you for sharing your story. I am just beginning to share mine. I am a private person off stage, but when introducing my original songs on stage and via interviews, I have to tell the truth about the inspirations behind them. While I still write and perform music of all genres, I have focused a great deal of my songs and concerts to humanitarian causes, i.e., "Save Our Children" (anti-child abuse) "Clean Up The World" (global warming, pollution), "Have A Raw Day" (raw food lifestyle), etc. Just for the asking, I refer to "My Safe Harbor," as my Higher Power whom I choose to call God and all of his Angels that He sent my way, such as yourself. However one's "Safe Harbor" can be whatever/whomever one considers to be their sanctuary and or savior. To hear my song and read the lyrics, click on the link below. My Safe Harbor
